A group of our Year 12 A-Level Drama and Theatre students visited Rose Theatre in Kingston Upon Thames on Saturday (April 27th) to watch ‘The Glass Menagerie’ by Tennessee Williams.

‘The Glass Menagerie’ is a poetic portrayal of a family on the brink of change. The intimate memory play explores the complex web of love and loyalty that binds families together.

Mr Oliver Pengelly, our Director of Drama and Theatre, said: “This was a rare opportunity to see this classic American memory play and A-Level set text in performance, and it certainly did not disappoint. Atri Banerjee’s contemporary interpretation of the text resulted in a powerful and moving theatrical experience. The acting was flawless throughout, and it was particularly helpful for our students to see how design elements were used to ‘reveal a greater truth than mere realism can achieve’. It was a long trip to South West London, but well worth it!”
