Your current role at King’s Ely and how long you have been a member of staff here:
I am Head of Science, Head of Physics and Extension and Enrichment Coordinator. I am about to begin my ninth year at King’s Ely Senior.
What do you enjoy most about working here?
I like the people, the open space around me and the rounded view of education. That we can take any student and give them a really good shot at something.
Hobbies/interests outside of school:
Running, camping, art galleries and museums.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
A world rowing champion (I almost made it … I have two silver medals and a bronze medal from the World Rowing Championships in 1999, 2000 and 2002).
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
To squeeze 25 hours into a day!
What was the last book you read?
‘The Running Hare: The secret life of farmland’ by John Lewis-Stempel.
What song are you most likely to sing at a karaoke?
I am not sure anyone would like to hear me sing – even at karaoke!
What is your favourite film?
‘Into the wild’? ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’? ‘Jaws’?
Do you have any phobias or fears?
I don’t think I do. Is that weird?
