‘Sunny Hunny’ did not quite live up to its nickname when our King’s Ely Acremont Pre-Prep children visited, but everyone still had a fantastic day!

The trip to SEA LIFE Hunstanton in Norfolk was organised to complement the children’s new learning topic, ‘I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside’.

Our Reception Teaching Team said: “Whilst it did not turn out to be quite the day that we had planned weather wise, we did of course have a wonderful time. SEA LIFE Hunstanton were very accommodating and provided an extra workshop for us, featuring rainforest creatures. The workshops were aptly run by a lovely lady called Summer!

“Having walked along the promenade in driving rain, our first activity was a rockpool experience, where we learnt some amazing facts about starfish and other rockpool inhabitants. Summer was very impressed with our previous knowledge, but we all came away having learnt lots of new facts! Ever the resilient learners, we opted for a ‘Plan B lunch’, which was a picnic lunch at the centre, after which we set off to explore all of the other areas that we had not yet had time to enjoy.

“We saw so many of the interesting creatures that we have learnt about in the classroom, such as penguins and seals. We were especially amazed by the tiny size of the baby seahorses, and not forgetting Ernie the resident turtle!”

At King’s Ely Acremont Pre-Prep, everyday is an adventure. Our dynamic and exciting curriculum is enriched with carefully planned trips, visits from experts, and new and innovative technology, all of which nurture curiosity and a genuine love of learning.
