Beautiful bird designs created by two of our King’s Ely Prep pupils will be appearing on television this evening (Tuesday, June 18th).
Scarlett’s and Iris’ charming masterpieces, pictured, will feature on ‘Painting Birds with Jim and Nancy Moir’, which is being aired on Sky Arts at 8pm.
Earlier this year, children in Years 3 to 6 at schools across the UK were invited to create a picture, in any medium, of a British bird or a bird commonly seen in Britain.
The competition was promoted to pupils by our Prep Art Department and several students were inspired to enter.
As reported last month, Iris and Scarlett were thrilled to discover that their designs had been shortlisted out of more than 1,500 entries from pupils at 144 different schools. Their artwork will be among around forty pieces to feature in the programme this evening.
