Check out our fabulous new Quiet Garden at King’s Ely Acremont Nursery and Pre-Prep!

The beautiful, tranquil space has been created at the bottom of the garden at Acremont House by our Gardens and Grounds Team.

The new area was officially opened to children and staff on May 21st during an outdoor worship assembly, which was led by our School Chaplain, Revd Dr Ros Lane; our Grounds and Gardens Manager, Mr Will Temple; and our Head Gardener, Mr Lee Yearn.

The garden features wildlife-friendly planting, bird boxes, log-piles, seating areas, wind chimes, and a striking elephant sculpture, which has been affectionately named John!

Mr Temple said: “The Quiet Garden project has been a huge team effort since it started last summer. From the initial clearing through to the grand opening, everyone in the team has mucked in. Shout-out to Megaplants Garden Centre in Doddington, where John the Elephant was sourced, and G&A Cornwell top soil supplies for helping with the dressing and mulch. Myself and Lee were thrilled to be part of the opening and blessing of the garden, and we hope it is enjoyed by everyone at Acremont for years to come.”

Revd Dr Lane said: “The children helped to bless the garden through prayers, by scattering soil, planting some plants, sowing some seeds, and watering the garden to make it theirs to use. Together, we joyfully sang as we celebrated this occasion as a community. Our special guests, Mr Temple and Mr Yearn, assisted by handing out the weekly merits, and in return, we gave them a very big thank you and round of applause for the work that they have carried out with the rest of their team.”
