Happy School Diversity Week 2023!

Celebrating diversity and equality is very much ingrained in school life here at King’s. We are a community which nurtures individuality, and embraces the fact that each and every one of us is unique.

However, School Diversity Week (June 26th-30th) is a wonderful opportunity to reinforce the importance and understanding of diversity amongst our students and staff; whether that be language diversity, racial diversity, neurodiversity, gender identity, physical ability, sexuality, or more.

Mrs Herring, who is Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead at King’s Ely Senior, and members of our King’s Unity Group, have organised an action-packed programme of activities and events to celebrate the annual campaign!

These kicked off yesterday (Monday 26th June) when King’s Unity Group led tmorning Cathedral Service for all Senior pupils and staff. During breaktime and lunchtime, there were also ‘pop-up temporary tattoo parlours’, which saw Mrs Herring and the King’s Unity Group selling rainbow-themed temporary water-based tattoos to Senior students to help raise diversity awareness – and raise money for Centrepoint – a charity which provides accommodation and support to homeless people aged 16-25 in the UK.

We look forward to sharing more of our School Diversity Week celebrations with you throughout the week!
