WHAT better place than Ely Cathedral to learn about the story of St Etheldreda and the founding of the original monastery in Ely?

Year 5 King’s Ely Junior pupils enjoyed an action-packed workshop with the Cathedral’s Education Team on November 23rd, where costumes, role play and lively Q&A sessions had the children enthralled.

Our Year 5 Teaching Team said: “Pupils learnt about St Etheldreda’s life and were able to visit the shrine. They also heard about the lives of St Wendreda and St Edmund, and considered the similarities and differences between their stories, including aspects which make each of the Saints special.

“The children came away from the Cathedral with lots of new information and were keen to continue their learning back in the classroom!”
