Pupils and staff at King’s Ely Prep marked Ascension Day today (Thursday, May 9th) with a wonderful themed Morning Eucharist at Ely Cathedral.

Ascension Day, also referred to as the Feast of the Ascension of Jesus Christ or Ascension Thursday, commemorates the Christian belief of the bodily ascension of Jesus into heaven.

Our School Chaplain, Revd Dr Ros Lane, led the Eucharist and described it as a “wonderful way to start the day”.

Dr Lane also presented Mr and Mrs Richard and Joanna Whymark with a ‘holding cross’ each, thanking them for their loyal service to our school community, including assisting with the Communion of hundreds of King’s pupils over the years!
