Geography

Geography at King’s is engaging, challenging, thought-provoking and exciting.

Geography involves exploring the world: in person or virtually, through static and moving images, and through the words and experiences of others.

Our curriculum is based on research, connection with the subject community and extensive reading about the very latest geographies, translated into a form which students can access, and which encourages them to think, speak and write like geographers.

Pupils use and create maps, track changing climates, consider their use of the earth’s resources, observe cities, try to act sustainably, visit dramatic landscapes, and use facts to break down misconceptions.

Our teaching team are all geography graduates and experienced teachers. Mr. Parkinson has served as President of the Geographical Association, and is currently Vice President: Education of the Royal Geographical Society.

We recognise that we need to keep learning and updating our subject knowledge and topics, which can be seen on our curriculum journey diagrams.
