Pastoral Care

Children need to feel nurtured and encouraged in order to develop the confidence, resilience and ambition to embrace new opportunities and build their talents.

Ensuring that children are supported in appropriate and effective ways will always be a priority for us.

“The focus is on personal development, both academically and socially, so that each student can become the best they can possibly be."
Mr and Mrs Evans

At King’s Ely Prep we invest a great deal of energy into ensuring that we know each child as an individual.  This approach enables us to help students to take risks and to challenge assumptions made about them.

We know that one type of encouragement will not fit all students, which is why our pastoral systems are flexible and individualised.  Form Tutors are the students’ everyday point of contact.  Housemasters and Housemistresses, our Heads of Year, and the Assistant and Deputy Heads also look to support and nurture them.

The wider pastoral network at the school includes a full programme to promote pupil welfare including access to School Counsellors and Welfare Assistants.  Our House System, Form Tutors, dedicated SEN practitioners and the 24-hour Medical Centre provide further levels of insight and care.
