International students have been part of a unique educational experience dating back over 1000 years.
"King's Ely has done a tremendous job of helping our eldest son prepare for his IGCSEs in just one year."
Mr and Mrs Salomaa
As one of the first UK Independent schools to offer the IGCSE qualification, we continue to tailor our programmes to match the needs of each student.
Our one-year IGCSE programme for students aged 15-16 facilitates rapid academic development. Averaging 90% A*-C grades, the King’s Ely International one year IGCSE programme provides access to King’s Ely A Level courses.
Year 11 students study in small classes of 8-12, which have a focus on subject-specific language and vocabulary development. Students are tested regularly, given frequent feedback, and taught excellent exam techniques.
Our students study the most relevant, interesting and appropriate subjects. Focusing on five to eight IGCSEs, students have nine lessons of English and five lessons of each subject per week. Closely monitored and supported in their boarding houses, they work hard to achieve the results necessary for entry to King’s Ely Sixth Form.
Early in Year 11, all eligible students are invited to apply to King’s Ely Sixth Form. Interviews with the Principal for Year 12 places are held in October.
