A Level Politics

Politics is how we can manage the conflicts and disagreements that arise through differing group interests.

Politics is about scrutinising our democracy and system of government as well as studying the ideologies behind the rhetoric of those who claim to, or want to, represent us.

Whether we like it or not politics is unavoidable: no matter our age, the government of the day is making policies that will affect us both in the short-term and long-term.

At King’s Ely we hope to develop students’ knowledge of current political affairs whilst exploring the dynamic nature of political parties and their ideologies.

The course aims to develop the research and communication skills needed to make coherent arguments and reach balanced conclusions.
