Pastoral Care

Pastoral care is at the heart of King's Ely Sixth Form.

Deemed in recent inspection reports to be ‘outstanding’, pastoral care at King’s Ely Sixth Form underpins all we do.

"The sense of community is certainly one of the main benefits as everyone feels really included. I feel as though King’s Ely has the best support system, whether you need help with school or you need some advice with a problem."
Tessa, King's Ely Sixth Form Student

At King’s Ely Sixth Form, we provide supportive pastoral care and an education that enables young people to discover and build on their strengths, using their talents to help define their identity.

Students learn how to take risks in their learning, accommodating success and failure in a climate of support.  Students are encouraged to nurture the habit of independent learning and take ownership of their own educational journeys, developing a sense of who they are alongside the courage to be who they want to be.

School Councillors are available at the Medical Centre, should a student require confidential support.  Students also have access to our school Chaplain and Community Welfare Advisor.

The tutorial system also provides structure and continuity for each student, with (wherever possible) a Form Tutor assigned to a student for the three years they attend King’s Ely Sixth Form.  This relationship is invaluable for the effective support of each student in academic work, revision and subject selection at GCSE and A Level and is built up through regular group meetings and individual tutorials.
