GCSE Fine Art |
---|
Fine Art is both a form of communication and a means of expression of ideas and feelings. It is a language which complements those of the literary, mathematical, scientific and factually based subjects, and is especially concerned with the development of those complex mental processes involved in visual perception and aesthetic experience. The syllabus has been devised to combine the necessary breadth and depth of study with the freedom of choice required to accommodate a wide range of abilities and material requirements. The pupils will cover a combination of methods and genres from the following disciplines: drawing, painting, photography, mixed media, printing and sculpture. Students will gain an understanding of contexts in art, craft and design and have the chance to participate in a variety of art excursions as well as regular collaborative exhibitions. Assessment
