Senior Co-Curricular

King's Ely Senior

Co-Curricular

Our Co-Curricular Programme encompasses opportunities such as robotics, pottery, Mandarin, food nutrition, Avicenna and the Ely Scheme.

We encourage students to give things a go, confident in the knowledge that they are in control of the choices they make and are not being judged on their performance.

"King’s always seems to go that bit further in looking out for the students’ well-being and the little things like this make such a difference."
Dr and Mrs Townley

In addition to the major sports, including rowing, a vast range of activities are available to students.  We have sailing, golf, martial arts, writing for the school newspaper, community service, the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and, of course, the Ely Scheme.

The Music and Performing Arts departments offer many co-curricular activities, including choirs, bands, orchestras, plays and musicals.  Performances need support, and students are also responsible for lighting, sound, stage design and front-of-house.

Many cultural, sporting trips and outward-bound expeditions take place throughout the year, including during the school holidays.  These can provide a once-in-a-lifetime chance that will live in the memory long after students leave school – who could forget winter climbing in the High Atlas, singing in Malta or playing cricket in Sri Lanka.
