King’s Ely Prep pupils, Scarlett and Iris, are celebrating success in this year’s Sky Arts ‘Painting Birds’ competition!
The creative duo’s beautiful bird designs, pictured, have been chosen to feature in an upcoming episode of the popular Sky Arts television programme, ‘Painting Birds with Jim and Nancy Moir’.
Earlier this year, children in Years 3 to 6 at schools across the UK were invited to create a picture, in any medium, of a British bird or a bird commonly seen in Britain.
The competition was promoted to pupils by our Prep Art Department and several students were inspired to enter.
Scarlett’s and Iris’ creations were shortlisted, and judges have now announced that they have been selected to appear in an episode of the Sky Arts programme at a date to be confirmed. We will publish the date in our Prep Newsletter as soon as we know it.
