"We moved our three children, Stephanie, Penelope and Sebastien, to King’s Ely in 2021. We wanted a school that was inclusive and catered for the wide range of educational and co-curricular interests of our family.

"Our decision to choose King's was sealed by interactions with alumni and older children at the school, who are all well-rounded and friendly. All three children wanted to be at the same school (not only for ease of drop-offs and being on one school portal for communications for us as parents!) but to also have a common experience through their schooling. We have not been disappointed - they are all thriving and see each other on a regular basis due to the shared facilities across the Prep School and the Senior School. The open campus nature of King's has been a real benefit in their development, being part of a wider community, and aiding their transition to independence.

"Our children love sport and have been very well served by the set-up at King's. Steph has enjoyed swimming and running for the school, complementing her participation in the GB Youth Triathlon Super Series in 2023, which the school fully supported. She has also embraced hockey under the expert coaching of Ms Bond. She greatly enjoyed a Hockey Tour to Holland and playing in the first team (as the year groups are merged throughout the school for ability). The addition of an Athletics Coach, Miss Bird, to the Sports Department has also upped the ante with extra-curricular strengthening and conditioning programmes, plus more cross country and athletics competitions on offer; in which all three of our children have enjoyed participating.

"The fact that Nick Pope was a former pupil sold the move to King’s for our youngest child, Seb! The inclusion of football alongside rugby as a core sport throughout the school was a critical factor in our decision to move him, and he was delighted to join a sporty year group and has since repeatedly had winning seasons in both football and rugby. Special mention must go to the Sports Teachers, who have given endless encouragement and enthusiasm to boost these teams' and individuals’ morale.

"Penelope’s main passion is theatre and dance, and so King’s was an easy choice for her too. The highlight for Penelope has been joining in many of the extra-curricular shows which are always of a high standard. She is looking forward to being in the dance troupe as she moves into Senior School.

"Academically and pastorally, support throughout the school is always available and encouraged. Teachers regularly provide parental updates and student guidance through the GCSE years, with extra classes and surgeries available to all. King’s has an open door policy and offers children every possible opportunity to perform to their potential. Stephanie has had such a positive experience since joining as a new girl in Year 9, and was immediately embraced by welcoming children from the Prep School. She had no question in her mind that she wanted to stay on for Sixth Form."
