King's Ely pupils excel in Senior Maths Challenge

Congratulations to our students for their superb achievements in the 2024 Senior Maths Challenge competitions!
Mathematicians in Years 11, 12, and 13 took on the annual Senior Maths Challenge, achieving an impressive 13 Gold, 20 Silver, and 34 Bronze awards.
Students who achieved Gold prizes included Michael Zhang, who was the highest performing Year 13 student, and attained the best score in school for the second year running. The highest achieving Year 12 student was Ben Alderton, and the best score in Year 11 was achieved by Dongyeon Kim.
Our 13 Gold prize achievers were invited to participate in the follow-on round of the competition; the Kangaroo, and Michael was able to compete in the Olympiad. Michael achieved a Distinction in this round. Dongyeon, Allison Chiu (Year 13), and Anna Ost (Year 13) attained Merits in the Kangaroo.
Our female mathematicians also competed in the Mathematical Olympiad for Girls. Oakley Wang (Year 12) achieved the highest score in school. Kimi Leong, Allison Chiu, and Catherine Liu were all joint highest in Year 13, achieving Distinctions. Natalie Song, Alina Savchuk, and Ellie Suen also achieved Distinctions. Cindy Yang, Angie Lai, and Audrey Lai achieved Merits.
