King's Ely welcomes Cambridge University European Theatre Group

The Cambridge University European Theatre Group brought their enchanting production of Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' to King's. 

The performance was held in the Hayward Theatre and students in Years 8 and 9 attended. Mrs Katie Mankellow, who is Head of Years 7 and 8 English at King's Ely Prep, organised the theatre group's visit.

Mrs Mankellow said: "This remarkable production was an excellent enrichment opportunity for our Years 8 and 9 students. It was wonderful for them to see a Shakespeare play on stage and prepare them for their GCSE English Literature course when they will study another Shakespeare play. Experiences like this not only deepen students’ understanding of literature and drama, but they also bring the classroom to life, leaving them inspired and engaged."
